An advanced primary ameloblastoma in the maxilla extending into the maxillary and ethmoid sinus tract: A case report

Tumor eradication and esthetic functional recovery of upper jaw defects are two the greatest challenges in treatment an extensive maxillary tumor affecting paranasal sinus. Here, we report a case successful advanced ameloblastoma extending to ethmoid sinuses orbital floor. A 45-year-old man, who presented with large mass left maxilla marked swelling cheek was referred our department. He had medical history being given diagnosis 13 years ago, but he not undergone any treatment. Pre-operative radiographic examinations, CT, MRI revealed destroying bone into sinuses. The nasal cavity completely obstructed, floor lifted deformed. After confirming as ameloblastoma, excision total maxilla, palate, including sinus carried out joint surgery otolaryngologist. surgical wound buccal area covered by forearm flap skin graft order maintain direct view possible recurrence near skull base. Two after operation, there no tumor. Disturbance eyeball movement detected. Occlusal speech functions were recovered using maxillofacial prosthesis made prosthodontist.
